Organic contaminant analysis
Research in organic contaminants is performed in fully-equipped laboratories with state-of-the-art analytical facilities and instrumentations dedicated to trace level analyses. The facilities comprise 300m2 of laboratories built in controlled atmosphere (low dust clean laboratories) and positive pressure.
The main equipment of the laboratory is listed below:
- Sample extraction: automated pressurized liquid extractors
- Purification/fractionation of extracts: preparative liquid chromatography systems; gel permeation chromatography systems.
- Analytical systems:
- Single quadrupole (GC-MS), triple quadrupole (GC-MS/MS) and high resolution (GC-HRMS) gas chromatography-mass spectrometry systems.
- Liquid chromatography system coupled to triple quadrupole mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS).
