The research project DELMOGES, jointly led by Ifremer, the University of La Rochelle and the CNRS, aims to better understand the interactions between dolphins and fishing activities in order to better identify solutions that will reduce their bycatch. This interdisciplinary project aims to: (1) identify the populations of common dolphin in the Bay of Biscay and better understand their distributions, movements and feeding ecology, (2) characterize cascades in the ecosystem and in particular interactions with small pelagic fishes, (3) examine interactions between dolphins and fisheries, and (4) propose remediation options.

In the CCEM unit, our objectives are to characterize the chemical exposome (emerging chemicals in particular) of dolphins according to complementary approaches (targeted, suspect, non-targeted analysis) in individuals stranded following accidental capture or due to another cause of mortality.
