Lab-On-Ship (2014-2019)

Lab-On-valve system for shipboard heavy metals measurements

The ANR Lab-On-Ship project aimed to develop a modular and easily operable analysis system from an oceanographic vessel. The proposed system is based on “Lab On Valve” (LOV) technology combined with a flow system of micro-pumps with solenoids (MultiPumping Flow system - MPFS) (Mattio et al., 2017). One of the major originalities of this project lies in the manufacture of a "laboratory valve" using rapid prototyping tools by 3D printing. The year 2017 was notably devoted to the integration into the LOV-MPFS system of the various modules necessary for the functioning of the analytical system. The latter comprises i) a solid phase extraction module using polymer materials specially developed for this application, ii) a detection module by UV-visible spectrofluorimetry after derivation by a specific reagent of the analytes of interest and iii ) a miniaturized photo-oxidation module.
