The general objective of MAGMA is to use the West Gironde Mud Patch (WGMP) off the Gironde estuary as a model offshore system to optimize and strengthen future monitoring programs in the framework of the MSFD. In particular, our team will characterize the levels and profiles of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs) in benthic invertebrates and common sole (Solea solea), and by doing so, improve the understanding of the transfer of contaminants in an offshore benthic food web.
